Note that this is not a full scholarship. You can read the comments for more infos.

The Master Risk Management (MRM) is an international, full time, Master course organized by the Dipartimento di Economia e Management, University of Pisa, in collaboration with some prominent Italian and international financial institutions, banks and pension funds.

It is entirely taught in English and is meant to provide students with cutting edge theoretical and practical skills to manage the main sources of risk characterizing financial markets, insurance institutions, pension funds or business.
The novelty of the MRM is that it is inspired by an interdisciplinary approach.
This key feature is due to the evidence that globalization needs managers able to analyze risk under different points of view and suggest integrated solutions.
The graduates will be endowed with strong analytic tools and advanced methodologies for risk management, which will be taught by both prominent international academic faculty and managers from financial, insurance and business institutions.

COURSE PROGRAM
After six months of front classes, in which both academic faculty and professional managers will alternate, in the second term the students must elaborate a project work, either as a research work or as a report on an internship-based activity of at least three months.
Such internship opportunity will be provided by the MRM, thanks to the partners participating to its Corporate Network, or by the students themselves.
All applicants benefit from the University of Pisa’s student policy and facilities.
Scholarships are available for some of the MRM’students.

PLACEMENT
The Master Risk Management graduates are suitable to join international business or financial institutions, pension funds and insurance companies as risk managers, both as internal auditors or as technical analysts.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND PRIZES
The Master Risk Management offers an amount of about 15.0000 euro for scholarships. Moreover, a prize will be granted to the best student. Such a prize consists in a cash prize of 2.000 euro and in the possibility to be selected for a 3-month, full paid internship in a UK-based company of the MRM Corporate Network.

Open to: social scientists who have been living and working in a developing country for at least ten years

Announcement follows

With funding from the Brazilian Government for four years, the prize will recognize social scientists who have been living and working in a developing country for at least ten years

Introduction
The prize reflects the Brazilian government’s strong support for TWAS and, more generally, for helping to build scientific capacity in the developing world. Such support has been reflected in the efforts of the former Presidents of Brazil Fernando Henrique Cardoso (TWAS Fellow 1984) and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and the former Ministers of Science and Technology José Israel Vargas (TWAS Fellow 1988) and Sergio Rezende (TWAS Fellow 2004). President Cardoso and Minister Vargas played central roles in the creation of the TWAS-Celso Furtado Prize in Social Sciences.”

The TWAS-Celso Furtado Prize is named after the renowned Brazilian economist, Celso Monteiro Furtado (1920-2004). Furtado’s research focused on the plight of the poor in Brazil and throughout South America. He emphasized the importance of devising economic development policies that focused on building a strong industrial base for what he often referred to as ‘peripheral economies’. He also foresaw the rise of a globalized world, which he said would be spurred by ‘the spread of the world economy’, and he urged developing countries to take steps to ensure that they would not be marginalized in the face of these trends.
